What exactly is Women In Networking LLC?
Women in Networking is based on support and networking. We share ideas and do a brainstorming activity each month, prepared by the host. We take turns hosting the meeting so each member has an opportunity to highlight their organization with an informative 5 minute commercial. Members give a 60 second commercial each month letting us know what support they need and special referral requests. We end with a fun door prize drawing. We don't meet weekly in the wee hours of the morning. We don't track and tally referrals. We don't have quotas. We have fun getting to know one another and the business we are promoting. We become friends and meet outside of our monthly meetings. We are now starting quarterly "Simply Social" events to do just that, socialize and build relationships. When she started Women in Networking in MN, the concept of local women coming together to share information and also promote one another, didn't take long to catch on. Now there is even another chapter. Michelle wants everyone to suceed. WIN is a way for us to support one another, especially in this economy. The meetings are somewhat structured with specific education. Everyone shares. For example, we may talk about how to market our business and even partner together. This is different from most networking groups. It isn't just about referrals. What also makes it work is we meet once a month and when you are small business owners, that seems to fit most of our schedules. I love these women and respect them.
