Here’s what the initial Waconia Chapter Leader had to say about starting their new Chapter…
“Thank you, Michelle, for all your help and support! We truly appreciate it. You have made it possible for us to get this running in just a few weeks. Without you, it would have taken months. Thank you for the jumpstart! I feel privileged and honored to be a part of this group. You guys are all so awesome!”
~ Jan Held, Waconia Chapter Leader

Begin with Women You Know

To start a Women In Networking Chapter, gather a group of 3 or more business-minded women. Tell them about the website and see if they’d be interested to start a chapter with you. To get the ball rolling, the founding members can choose a Leadership position that best fits their skills or invite more members to join and have official nominations. Keep in mind, one of the goals of Women In Networking is to keep it simple.

Once you have your core group, set your kick-off meeting date for 2 months out. Before your first meeting, begin to talk to other women business owners you know and invite them to “try it out” as a guest at the first meeting. Let them attend 2 meetings to help them decide if it’s a good fit for them. If they like it, ask for a Membership Application after the 2nd meeting to confirm their commitment to the group. Have the Membership Committee approve their application before the 3rd meeting.

Encouraging current Members to invite guests is a wonderful way to build your membership. It’s much easier to get the group started with 4-5 members and let it grow naturally. We all know how powerful word-of-mouth can help with our own business.

Exclusive Members per Industry

One of the benefits of Women In Networking is that each Chapter accepts only one member per industry. The Membership Committee works to make sure there aren’t any conflicts between members. Our Guide to Successful Networking booklet explains membership benefits and policies in detail along with information about administration, dues, meeting agendas and more.

Ask a Chapter Administrator or our Women In Networking Administrator for a free booklet.

It’s that easy.
