Every Member is a wealth of information and a valuable resource. That’s why we rotate the opportunity to conduct the brainstorming session of our monthly meeting.
First, the Leadership Team picks a location that would fit the size of the group and offer a somewhat private environment so everyone can hear. Locations like a Member’s conference room or the library work great. Coffee shops work well when groups are small, like 7-10 members. Once the membership grows, a more private location works best. Lunch can be purchased at the location or box lunches ordered in advance and delivered to the meeting site.
Sending Out Invitations
The Chapter Administrator maintains a database of all active Members and prospects for their Chapter. The Administrator will send an email invitation to the Members with the details of the meeting location and topic. Get excited! Write invitations that make Members say, “I’d better not miss THIS meeting!”.
Send a reminder email 2 days prior to the meeting. Be sure to personally call any members who have not opened the invitation to confirm they received it. Remind Members they can send a substitute and bring guests. The more the merrier!
On Meeting Day
Networking meetings start with members gathering at the meeting location with simple networking as lunch is ordered, served and eaten. Roam around and make sure you shake hands with everyone in the room before you sit down to eat. Meetings are 1.5 hours. If you are unable to attend, please ask a co-worker if they can attend in your absence. Make it valuable for everyone to attend. Keep it simple.
Your agenda will fluctuate depending on the number of members and the amount of time you allow for your individual commercials. The tri-fold brochure includes a sample agenda.
